At AZTI you'll be part of an agile, dynamic and innovative team firmly committed to research and adding value for society.

Our purpose is to drive a positive change for the future of people, contributing to a healthy, sustainable and fully-rounded society.

YOUR IMPACT

With your work you'll help to develop tools for making decisions in Europe about the conservation and restoration of marine biodiversity. You'll be working with leading figures like @AngelBorja, @SaraiPouso and @IbonGalparsoro, in a multilingual environment.

YOUR POSITION:

Within the Marine and Coasts Environmental Management research area,

Your role is to take part in the development of decision-support tools to be used in simple socio-ecological systems (with few human pressures such as tourism or fishing, providing beneficial ecosystem services such as food, spotting interesting species and so on) in order to help managers in taking decisions on conservation and restoration, making this scalable to carry over to more complex socio-ecological systems. The application and testing will take place in three areas of study: the Arctic, Italy and Macaronesia.

This will be in support of the Horizon Europe project “Marine SABRES” (Marine Systems Approaches for Biodiversity Resilience and Ecosystem Sustainability)

Type of contract: Access to the Spanish science, technology and innovation system (post-doc).

Duration: 3 years (with the possibility of renewal)
