What will your mission be?

Your mission will be to lead the generation of applied knowledge in Nutrition and health, transferring it to real solutions that add value to society and the industrial ecosystem.

You will have autonomy to drive new lines, within the framework of our science and technology plans, develop assets and connect science with application.

What will you do in this position?

You will have a key role in the development and leadership of strategic initiatives in the field of Food and Health, focusing on healthy aging.

You will lead applied research projects in nutrition and aging linked to market/society needs
You will achieve national and international funding for the projects of the line you lead
You will promote knowledge transfer to the market
You will collaborate with industrial, clinical and technological agents
You will contribute to the scientific and technological positioning of AZTI

Your work will go beyond research: you will generate real impact in sectors such as biomedicine, nutrition and longevity.

Requirements

What will help you succeed in this position?

University degree in areas related to biomedicine, nutrition, health sciences, biotechnology, biochemistry, pharmacy or others of equal or similar nature.
Minimum professional experience of 5 years in applied research in healthy aging and human nutrition.
Demonstrable experience in leading R&D projects, including obtaining competitive funding and collaboration with industrial or clinical agents in the field of aging.
Experience in designing and conducting clinical studies in humans and biomarker validation.
Positioning in the topic of healthy aging (thesis, publications, company creation).
Direct participation in the development of solutions, products or services in the field of health, nutrition or longevity that have reached real implementation phases or market launch.
Experience in direct client relations in sectors such as biomedicine, pharmacy, biotech, digital health or aging.
Experience in technology transfer environments oriented to the generation of services, assets or new business opportunities.
Good level of spoken and written English.
Driving license B.

PhD in areas of biomedicine, nutrition or health sciences
Specialized training in clinical nutrition, longevity or digital health
International experience in reference environments
Knowledge in:
- Biology of aging
- Precision nutrition
- Multiomics
- Data science applied to health
- Digital health (apps, wearables, platforms)
Training in scientific innovation or entrepreneurship
Knowledge of Basque
